Toyota Rav4

Looking for an SUV? The RAV4 is the original SUV compact cross-over, designed for drivers who crave the spacious cargo of an SUV, but also need the fuel economy and maneuverability of a compact car. Since its debut on the automotive market, the RAV4 now leads with the all-new 2016 Rav4. Given its past and recent successes, there are plenty of RAV4 competitors on the market. The 2016 model features soft-touch interior technologies, advanced safety and still comes complete with a standard four-wheel drive. There’s a lot of competition on the market, and we’ve taken a look at three brands: the 2016 Honda CR-V, the 2016 Hyundai Tuscon and the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. Take a look at the incredible benefits of a new RAV4 and see for yourself why the 2016 RAV4 has its competitors beat.

2016 RAV4 vs. 2016 Honda CR-V

Right now, the 2016 RAV4 and the 2016 Honda CR-V are the two most popular choices on the market for drivers seeking an SUV that is essentially your do-all vehicle. Both are good on gas, and can tackle everyday tasks, but the RAV4 has undergone some substantial updates that are just not evident on the Honda CR-V. Let’s start with the interior. Compared to its 2015 version, the Honda CR-V received very limited upgrades. The wheels and trim were changed, but other than that, there were not many advances. The RAV4, on the other hand received a full-blown makeover. The new RAV4 was built from sound-deadening materials and light-weight high tensile steel, which provides a quiet cabin that is superior to the Honda CR-V. This year was all about interior design for the RAV4, so for those drivers who love technology upgrades, look no further. Complete with stunning new touchscreens and audio systems, an ECO drive monitor and a redesigned cargo, the 2016 RAV4 is your ultimate family vehicle.

2016 RAV4 vs. 2016 Hyundai Tuscon

If you’ve decided on a compact SUV, there’s a good chance you’ve already compared these models. Both have had significant upgrades, which actually make the choice that much harder. However, while both models were heavily updated on the interior and exterior, the 2016 RAV4 added a hybrid powertrain version, giving eco-conscious drivers significantly more options than the makers of Hyundai Tuscon. According to experts at J.D. Power, the Toyota RAV4 offers better-than-average reliability, compared to the Hyundai Tuscon which has not yet been rated.  Both the 2016 RAV4 and the 2016 Hyundai Tuscon shine when it comes to design and reliability, but overall, the RAV4 boasts an overall better score than its competitor.

2016 RAV4 vs. 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

One of the best features that has been well-received across the board this year for the 2016 RAV4 is its addition of the RAV4 hybrid model. No other competitor has yet offered a hybrid model and for environmentally-friendly drivers, this comes as a big win for Toyota. The RAV4 has a larger cargo capacity than the Chevrolet Equinox with a lighter base curb weight. Hybrid model aside, the original 2016 RAV4 still produces less emissions per year with a rating of 6.7 at 15,000 miles per year, compared to the Chevrolet Equinox’s rating of 6.8.
