What to Expect From the North American International Auto Show

For more than 100 years, Detroit has hosted an automotive show in the city. While the early beginning of this beloved tradition took a regional stance, over the years it has become a full-fledged international spectacle that all automotive lovers look forward to. The North American International Auto Show has been held in downtown Detroit at the Cobo Conference and Exhibition Centre since 1965. This year marks the tenth year of the ultra-luxury automotive event, The Gallery which is the official kick-off event for NAIAS. There are many exhibits to enjoy this year and plenty of big, exciting news in store for Toyota. The show is open to the public from January 14th-January 22nd with tickets now on sale. To start the new year off right, Toyota has a special announcement which will be revealed at NAIAS in just a few more weeks.

Last year, the North American International Auto Show attracted more than 5,000 journalists from 60 different countries. More than 61 new vehicle introductions were announced. It’s only fitting that Toyota follows suit. This year, Toyota will unveil the all-new 2018 Toyota Camry. The Toyota Camry is on-track to be the best-selling car in America for the 15th year in a row. On the Canadian auto market, sales are just as promising. From the teaser photos that have circled around the web, it would suggest that the new Camry features a redesigned roofline and taillights, adding a bit more flair than last year’s model. Recent reports suggest there is a significant weight reduction on the 2018 Toyota Camry, as well as the use of more aluminum on the exterior structure. There’s likely to be a four-cylinder engine on the new Camry, and a hybrid model will arrive to satisfy the driving needs of environmentally-conscious drivers.
