Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 Plus New Features

The award-winning 2021 Toyota Camry will be the first vehicle to boast Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 Plus, and will include exciting new features, such as:

• Toyota’s revolutionary Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection can now recognize cyclists during the day, and pedestrians during low-light situations. This system also has a new feature called Intersection Support, which can detect oncoming traffic during left-hand turns and sound an alarm to alert drivers. It can even brake automatically under certain circumstances to help prevent head-on collisions.

• A new system called Emergency Steering Assist has been designed to stabilize your vehicle within its lane during quick evasive maneuvers, such as avoiding another vehicle or cyclist. If you’ve ever had a hard time regaining control of your vehicle after jerking the wheel to avoid a potential collision, then you’ll understand why this feature can be so incredibly useful - especially on slippery mountain roads.

• The Adaptive Cruise Control feature has been redesigned to include a feature that makes passing slow moving traffic easier by automatically accelerating to a preset speed once you activate the turn signal.

• One of the most relevant features to debut on the 2021 Toyota Camry as a part of the Safety Sense 2.5 Plus suite is the new Rear Seat Reminder. This vital feature is designed to prevent drivers from unintentionally leaving something in the backseat once they’ve exited the vehicle, such as a laptop, or worse, a sleeping pet or child. Rear Seat Reminder has tremendous implications for helping to prevent accidents involving children and pets being left in hot cars each summer season.

Besides all of these innovative new safety features, Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 Plus will also include standard intelligent features from the Toyota Safety Sense suite, like Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keeping Assist, Automatic High Beams, available Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Road Sign Recognition.
